Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS)

Obstacle Limiting Surfaces (OLS) are essential for airport safety and planning, establishing limits that guarantee that buildings and objects in the vicinity of airports and heliports do not affect air operations. Its correct evaluation and modeling make it possible to prevent interference with the takeoff, approach and maneuver trajectories of aircraft.

Implementation Amendment 18 Annex 14 - The new OLS

The recent ICAO update redefines how aerodromes must protect their operations from obstacles. These new surfaces not only modernize the evaluation methodology, but also expand the scope of planning and management of the airport environment.

At SCIAER, we accompany airport operators, authorities and consultants in the adaptation and application of the new SLOs, offering:
